Masaryk Circuit, Czechoslovakia / 26 September 1937
Tazio Nuvolari, racing for Alfa Romeo, loses a tire on the fifth lap of the Masaryk Grand Prix and is forced to drive to the pits on a bare rim while Rudolf Caracciola takes advantage of the situation.
Although infuriated by the inferiority his car, the exceptional Italian driver still managed to place fifth in the competition.
By the end of the year Nuvolari would be driving as a Silver Arrow for Auto Union.
